Mini Heroes –
Emergency Calling for EYFS (Ages 4–5)

A fun and interactive early years workshop designed to help young children learn how to call for help confidently in an emergency.

Using story-led learning, role play, video and Mini Heroes characters, children are introduced to:

  • Calling 999

  • Speaking to emergency services

  • Staying calm

  • Knowing their address

  • Recognising when an adult needs help

What will children learn?

Children follow Maya and the Mini Heroes through an interactive story-based adventure where they learn how to:

  • Recognise an emergency

  • Ask an adult for help

  • Call 999 using Mini Heroes phones

  • Answer simple emergency service questions

  • Understand what information helps emergency responders

The session includes:

  • animated story slides

  • video content

  • emergency role play

  • group discussion

  • interactive participation

Designed for young learners:

The session has been created specifically for EYFS children using:

  • age-appropriate language

  • visual learning

  • repetition and role play

  • character-led storytelling

  • short engaging activities

Children stay actively involved throughout the session while building confidence and communication skills.

Session Details:

  • Session Length: Approximately 35 minutes
