One Day Health and Safety Executive Compliant First Aid Course

Emergency Paediatric First Aid is a practical, confidence-building one-day course designed to help adults respond quickly and effectively to medical emergencies involving infants and children.

 

This course focuses on the most common and serious paediatric emergencies, providing clear actions and hands-on practice to ensure delegates feel confident to act while emergency services are on their way.

 

It is particularly suitable for childcare and early years settings that require paediatric first aid awareness but do not need the full two-day Paediatric First Aid qualification. Training is delivered in a supportive, interactive format with plenty of opportunity for discussion and practical skills practice.

  • Child, baby & adult basic life support (CPR)

  • Child, baby & adult choking

  • How to use an automated external defibrillator (AED)

  • Asthma and inhalers

  • Anaphylaxis and allergic reactions

  • Unconsciousness and recovery position

  • Seizures and fitting

  • Bleeding, burns and fractures

  • Fainting

  • First aider roles and responsibilities

  • Practical, interactive training with hands-on practice

  • No formal exam or written assessment

  • Certification issued via SkillBase

  • This course does not meet EYFS full Paediatric First Aid requirements (a two-day course is required for that)
